Rest In Peace Mister Solomon Burke

singer Solomon Burke we left on Sunday aboard a plane that took him from Los Angeles to Amsterdam, where he was to occur.
age 70, Solomon Burke part of this generation of pioneers of soul music alongside Otis Redding, Sam Cooke and Wilson Pickett, although he never had the popular success of his peers. Bathed in the gospel until his teens, he participated in the development of a mid-tempo soul, adding to the emotional country music instrumentation of rhythm & blues. It is, among other things, the author of "Everybody Needs Somebody to Love" which will be taken by the Rolling Stones the same year and later adapted for the film The Blues Brothers.

He continues to record in the 70 and 80 but it was the 2000s which saw its renaissance with the album Do not Give Up To Me which won the unanimous criticism. It must be said that with a production unpretentious and original compositions by Van Morrison, Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello and Nick Lowe, the album has some serious advantages. Burke will be active throughout the decade chaining tours and recordings, tirelessly preaching his love of soul.

Rest In Peace Mister Solomon Burke .
